Our Founder and director Rachel Wattson

Rachel Wattson has been in the performing arts world since the young age of four.  Her first time on stage was as a Cratchet child in “A Christmas Carol”.  From performing in plays, improv groups, musicals, operas, choirs, and solo performances she brings over 30 years of performing experience.

She went to college for photography while continuing to perform. Along with being on stage she has been teaching and directing students from age 4 to age 90 in acting, musical theater and vocal performance since 2009. Rachel is a jack of many trades within the world of the arts. After college she became a wedding and family photographer until she had her fourth child in 2013. All the while being pulled into music and acting whenever she got the chance. She is most proud of the five years (2017-2021) spent with a children's musical production company in San Diego, Playground Players Productions, as an assistant director.

She is currently performing with The Old Coloma Theater educational program, volunteering for their night performances, and producing children's musicals at two different locations in El Dorado County. Being a working artist helps her stay current and learn new techniques as she encounters new artists and directors. Rachel has partnered with Foothills Learning Academy to teach vocal performance, musical theater, science, photography and dance classes.

Rachel enjoys acting, singing, baking, reading, hiking, paddleboarding and anything else outdoors with her family. She believes everyone is creative; they just need to find their outlet!
